TOPLESS REVIEW 2004

MAIN SECTIONS

The Topless Review is an attempt to keep a record of all the celebrity uncoverings that occur in Newspapers, Magazines, and on Television in the current year.

Symbols Used
J definite topless shots with one or both breasts bare with nipple(s) visible. This includes nipple slips and see-through shots.
L technically topless but covered due to careful or fortuitous posing.
K a topless image that is a new one from a previously seen set or occasion (that I've not seen before). Unless it is only very recently after the initial appearance.

January 2004
J Billie Piper (Singer/Actress) - a topless paparazzi shot of her sitting on a beach with the cups of her bikini top lowered. (The People 04/01/2004)
J Tania Do Nascimento (Big Brother 4 Contestant) - paparazzi snaps of her holidaying with a friend - she is seen topless but with her arms/hands covering her nipples in most - except one picture in which she is laying on her front propped on her elbows with the side of her right breast and nipple seen - her friend is Nicola McClean, a page 3 model, who is seen fully topless. J Sadie Frost (Actress) - a paparazzi shot of her at Kate Moss' 30th birthday party wearing a red dress with one side fallen off her shoulder and her left breast exposed. (The People & NOTW 18/01/2004)

March 2004
J Tracy Shaw (Actress/Coronation Street) & Tina Hobley (Actress/Holby City/Coronation Street) - a posed B&W photo viewed from the side of the two actresses standing close to each other with their foreheads touching and hands on each other's shoulders - they are both topless with the near breast of each seen. The picture was taken by photographer John Stoddart in 1999 during a photoshoot when they were both still in Coronation Street - unpublished at the time but now being featured in the photographer's own book of his work called "Peep World". July 2004
J Tina Hobley (Actress/Holby City) - wearing a black chiffon top as she poses for some photos when arriving at a night-club - her right breast is clearly made visible though the material due to camera flashes. (The Sun 02/07/2004)
J Lisa Scott-Lee (Singer/Steps) - a series of topless paparazzi photos beside a pool while on holiday in Spain. (The Sun 13/07/2004)
J Charlotte Church (Singer) - a couple of paparazzi snaps of her on holiday in Ibiza standing applying lotion on herself - in one she had her arm loosely over her breasts; and in another even looser with her left nipple only just covered by her fingertips - not quite any nipple nudity throughout. J Charlotte Church (Singer) - pictured at a nightclub wearing a low-cut dress with most of her left breast and nipple seen out of it in a high-angled shot. (NOTW 08/08/2004)

J (ep3) Maxine Peake (Veronica) - part of her right nipple is seen above the rim of her nightie as she turns onto her side when she is woken up in bed - then as she gets out of bed an almost full view of her breasts are seen hanging in her nightie although no actual nipple nudity at this point.
J (ep4) Rebecca Atkinson (Karen Jackson) - topless sitting back in a bath as her mother's boyfriend (David Threlfall) comes into the bathroom not realising she is there - she then prolongs the encounter by asking him to hand her a towel.
J (ep5) Maxine Peake - topless doing some ironing as she "performs" in front of a webcam whilst a punter watches her on the internet.

Private Life of a Masterpiece (BBC2 - 19/01/2004) "Rodin's The Kiss"
J Ann-Kathrin Schirmer, Catherine Rodojcin and Maria Ruiz (as "Models") - {Documentary} topless and full frontal nudity while posing and getting ready to pose in short dramatised sequences to show how sculptor Auguste Rodin worked with his models. There were three female models featured and although they were given character names in the dialogue, the end credits grouped them together as "models" so it is not possible to determine who was who. There was no spoken dialogue other than the narrator's voice.

Comfortably Numb (C4 - 25/01/2004)
J Sammi Branson (Jake's Lover) - full frontal nudity as she gets out of bed and gets dressed while Jake (Hans Matheson) lays in bed pretending to still be asleep. This is her only scene which has no dialogue.
J Rebecca Palmer (Emma) - topless side view in a bathroom as she undresses and joins Jake in the shower • topless laying on her back on the floor in a lovemaking scene with Jake • topless standing in front of a bathroom mirror as she looks at herself and removes a small plaster from between her breasts.

Footballers' Wives (ITV1 - ep1: 11/02/2004; ep3: 25/02/2004; ep7: 24/03/2004) Series 3 (9 episodes)
J (ep1) Zoe Lucker (Tanya Laslett) - topless standing in front of Conrad Gates (Ben Price) as he removes her dress - then topless underneath him as they move onto a bed - then topless quickly standing up and holding her dress in front of herself when his wife (Laila Rouass) returns home.
J (ep3) Zoe Lucker (Tanya Laslett) - rear nudity in a shower - seen through the slightly misted up glass door - then topless as she gets out of the shower and quickly puts on a robe when she finds her husband (John Forgeham) watching her • topless on a private jet with Conrad Gates (Ben Price) as he pours wine over the front of her body and licks it off - then topless on a couch underneath him as they make love.
J (ep3) Sarah Barrand (Shannon Donnelly) - bare back and partial side of her left breast while kneeling on a bed in front of her boyfriend (Jamie Davis) as she lowers her robe to try and convince him to pay for her breast enlargements - seen from behind with a towel around her hair and her face not seen in the same shot • topless laying on her back on an operating table as the surgeon starts her breast operation - an overhead lamp masks her face. Both scenes strongly suggest the use of a body double.
L (ep3) Laila Rouass (Amber Gates) - laying on a couch seemingly naked as she recites some dialogue for an audition - her arms are folded tightly over her chest and all revealing nudity is well hidden • sitting up in bed as she watches her husband (Ben Price) walk off and notices scratches on his bottom - her right arm loosely cover her breasts - no nipple nudity.
J (ep7) Zoe Lucker (Tanya Turner) - topless laying on her back on a sunlamp table.

Wire In The Blood (ITV1 - 12/02/2004) Series 2, ep1:- Still She Cries
J Caitlin Mottram (Hattie Davis) - laying naked on her side on wasteground when her body is discovered by police - only a partial side of her left breast is seen with all other revealing nudity hidden by her body arrangement • topless laying on an autopsy table as the pathologist pulls a sheet over her - viewed from above. She is seen alive earlier and had a small speaking part.
J Uncredited (Mica Van Marten) - laying naked on her side on wasteground when her body is discovered by police - the side of her right breast and some rear nudity are visible but all other revealing nudity is hidden by her body arrangement. She is not seen alive at all and had no speaking part.

Red Cap (BBC1 - 12/02/2004) Series 2, ep6:- Long Time Dead
J Tracy Whitwell (Saskia Roper) - topless as she comes out of a shower to be confronted by Jo (Tamzin Outhwaite) who thinks it is going to be the husband in the shower - then bare back and part side of her left breast as she puts on a robe. The topless shot is very brief and a bit blurred as the camera power-zooms forward.

Bella and the Boys (BBC2 - 15/02/2004)
J Billie Piper (Bella) - topless lovemaking scene astride her boyfriend (Tom Burke) on a bed - seen from the side with her right breast seen hanging.

Midsomer Murders (ITV1 - 29/02/2004) ep: The Straw Woman
L Jemima Rooper (Jo Clifford) - bare back laying outdoors in the woods after she has unexpectedly stripped off to surprise a photographer (Daniel Weyman) so he can take some pictures of her - her face is not seen and her bottom is masked by the angle • glossy B&W photos from the nude modelling session are subsequently seen throughout the episode - in the photo seen most prominently she is standing in a topless side view near a tree with the full side of her left breast seen with her left hand covering the front of it - in others not so prominently seen she is sitting rear facing on a tree branch with partial rear nudity and some side of her right breast seen as she looks round at the camera behind her - and other similar variations - no nipple nudity throughout.

Hustle (BBC1 - 02/03/2004) episode 2
J Sara Carver (Rachel) - topless laying on her back in a lovemaking scene with Adrian Lester - this is a brief flashback as he reminisces on happier times with his estranged wife.

J (ep1) Uncredited (Mrs Capland) - topless dead in a warm bath as some nurses try to heat up her body before the doctor declares her death to disguise the fact that they didn't notice she had died much earlier. She is an elderly woman and had no speaking role.
J (ep1) Sunetra Sarker (Anji) - topless side view in a lovemaking scene astride a man (Craig Parkinson) on a bed - the side of her right breast is seen but with no nipple nudity.
J (ep1) Katie Ferguson (Sarah Morgan) - topless laying on the floor of a restroom as medical staff open her blouse to try and revive her - then topless when they have given up and she is covered up. She is seen alive earlier in a hospital bed as a patient and had a few lines of dialogue.
J (ep2) Janet Mitchell (Mrs Lundy) - topless in a hospital bed as two nurses give her a bed bath. She is large overweight older woman in this with a minor speaking role.
J (ep5) Georgina Law (Stripper) - topless in a pub doing a strip-o-gram for a female doctor whom the nurses are trying to humiliate. She has a few minor lines of dialogue..
L (ep7) Jo Joyner (Beth) - most of the full side of her left breast is seen as she lays down in bed and raises the sheet slightly while adjusting it to cover herself better after a bout of lovemaking with a man (Mark Aiken) - no nipple nudity.
J (ep8) Kaye Wragg (Kate) - topless lovemaking scene in bed underneath a man (Derek Riddell) when she starts asking him how she compares to other women.

Wire In The Blood (ITV1 - 04/03/2004) Series 2, ep4:- Sharp Compassion
J Jane Dixon (Cindy Benson) - topless laying dead on a mortuary table as a pathologist pulls a sheet over her while talking to the police - seen from above. She is seen alive earlier as Robson Green conducts a mental re-enactment of her attack.

The Worst Week of My Life (BBC1 - 12/03/2004) ep1:- Monday
L Emma Pierson (Sophie) - bare back and some side of her left breast seen as she removes her bridesmaid's dress in front of her family and future brother-in-law because she says she hates it and would rather go to the wedding naked than have to wear it - her face is not seen.

Gunpowder, Treason and Plot (BBC2 - ep2: 14/03/2004; ep3: 21/03/2004)
J (ep2) Clémence Poésy (Mary, Queen of Scots) - topless lovemaking scene on a bed astride Bothwell (Kevin McKidd) - initially seen as a shadow silhouette on the bed drapes - then her left breast is seen in close-up as the camera moves up to her face in a continuous shot.
J (ep3) Emilia Fox (Lady Margaret) - topless lovemaking scene on a bed underneath Thomas Winter (Sam Troughton) as he strangles her believing she has betrayed the conspiracy - seen from a medium distance from the side - then topless laying on her back dead on the bed - viewed from above. (Note: this was shown as a double-length episode - if shown in two-parts like the first instalment was then this scene would be in the second half/part 4 - but however shown it would be in the "final episode").

J Kay Marshall (Caro Bibbons) - topless and full frontal nudity doing some workout exercises with a man - part of a (specifically filmed) self-improvement video that Angus Deayton is watching on a TV.

J Tiffany Mulheron (Natalie Osborne) - she is in an indoor swimming pool and takes off her bikini top then pretends it came off accidentally and calls to the leisure centre manager, whom she is trying to seduce, for help - this part is modestly shot - then the full side of her right breast is briefly seen as she steps into a towel being held out for her by the manager (Richard Calkin) - not quite any nipple nudity seen.

Murphy's Law (BBC1 - 10/05/2004) Series 2, episode 1
J Katrine De Candole (Beka) - bare back and the side of her right breast as Murphy (James Nesbitt) sees her putting back on her top after having provided sexual favours for the reverend (Andrew Bicknall) - no nipple nudity.

Steel River Blues (ITV1 - 08/09/2004) ep 2:- Bloody Fridays
J Rachel Rhodes (Slinky Sarah) - topless as she gets ready in a pub's basement dressing room for her stripper act while she talks to the firemen who arrive to search for her lost snake - when they first arrive her left nipple is seen as she places a tassel over it and the rest of the time she is wearing small tassels covering her nipples.
J Uncredited - Topless in the street as a drunken reveller as she pulls down the front of her top and flashes her breasts at the firemen - her only appearance in which she has a few lines of dialogue as she shouts taunting remarks with her mates but is not named and receives no identifying credit.

She's Gone (ITV1 - 19/09/2004)
J Mercedes Grower (Dancer) - topless wearing a Turkish dancer's costume as she dances on a stage in a lap dancing club whilst Ray Winstone watches - afterwards she has a brief speaking role when she comes over to talk to him.

Dirty Filthy Love (ITV1 - 26/09/2004)
J Anastasia Griffith (Stevie) - topless lovemaking scene astride her husband (Michael Sheen) - viewed from a low angle with her left breast seen in the frame - then topless underneath him as the lovemaking scene continues.

Steel River Blues (ITV1 - 06/10/2004) ep 6:- Flashpoint
J Kelly Wenham (Julie Priestley) - rear nudity as she gets into a shower cubicle in the fire station - it is seen from a high angle as images from a secret high-mounted web-cam are being watched on a computer screen by the male firemen - a close-up of her bottom is also seen as they notice she has a tattoo on it - her face is not seen throughout and so may be a body double.
J Laura Norton (Susie) - topless as she opens and leans out of her upstairs bathroom window and looks down at the firemen and then covers herself with her arms as she asks if she should leave the building - she has a modest speaking role as she sits in the fire-engine chatting with the crew after being locked out of her house and appears again later when being rescued on a party-cruise boat.

This entry is based on screenshots seen only since Freeview isn't available in my area. These two episodes where shown as a double-bill on the same night so it's unclear which one this appeared in.

I don't get Sky and this information is based solely on information received - no screenshots have been seen of it.
